Classification of the Biogeographical Provinces of the World

"This is a hierarchical system which consists of (1) biogeographic regions, i.e. major taxa; (2) biotic provinces withinthe regions. Further, each province is characterized by a (3) major biome or biome-complex. As discussed above, we re-name the first two items (biogeographical realm, biogeographical province)."
