Korean Sign Language for Legal Terminology

Korean Sign Language for Legal Terminology is a dictionary developed by the National Court Administration. It provides easy-to-understand explanations of key legal procedures and terms for each trial, presented in sign language, to enable hearing-impaired individuals to communicate clearly and accurately during court proceedings. In addition to printing, the dictionary also includes video clips of the sign language expressions, making them easier and more accurate to understand. Four separate collections of legal terminology were published over the course of four years, starting with the 2020 collection of legal terminology for criminal procedures and ending with the 2023 collection of legal terminology for administrative procedures.

법률용어 수어(Korean Sign Language for Legal Terminology)는 청각장애인이 재판절차에서 명확하고 정확하게 의사소통을 할 수 있도록 각 재판절차 별로 주요 재판절차와 법률용어를 알기쉽게 설명하고 이를 수어로 제시한 사전으로, 법원행정처에서 개발했다. 인쇄물에 수어 표현을 사진으로 제작한 것뿐만 아니라 동영상으로도 제작했기에 동영상을 통해 보다 정확하고 쉽게 수어 표현을 이해할 수 있다. 2020년 형사절차에 관한 법률용어 수어집부터, 2023년 행정절차에 관한 법률용어 수어집까지 4년에 걸쳐 4개의 법률용어 수어집을 발간했다.
