Core Korean-English Legal Terms

The Core Korean-English Legal Terms Dictionary is a legal terminology dictionary created by the National Assembly Library and the Korea Legislation Research Institute. Unlike existing legal terminology dictionaries, it selects only the most fundamental legal terms actually used in civil, commercial, and criminal law articles, and provides the most accurate English equivalents.

This dictionary arranges Korean terms alphabetically. Each Korean term is identified by its corresponding Chinese character, English term, and subject area. Each term is then separated into Korean and English, providing definitions and concepts, representative articles, related terms, translation examples, and examples of foreign usage (German, French, Japanese, and Chinese).

핵심 한영 법률용어사전(Core Korean-English Legal Terms Dictionary)은 국회도서관과 한국법제연구원에서 만든 법률용어 사전이다. 기존의 법률용어사전과는 달리 민법, 상법, 형법 조문에서 실제로 사용되는 법률용어 중 가장 기초가 되는 핵심 용어만을 선정하였고, 이에 대응되는 가장 정확한 영어표현을 제시하였다.

이 사전은 국문용어를 자모순으로 배열하였다. 각 국문용어에 해당하는 한자, 영문용어, 주제분야를 밝힌 후, 국문과 영문으로 구분하여 용어별 정의 및 개념, 대표조문, 관련용어, 번역 사용례, 외국 사용례(독일어-프랑스어-일본어-중국어)를 붙였다.
