K-Taxonomy Guidelines

The Korean Green Classification System Guidelines (K-Taxonomy Guidelines) are guidelines for the Korean green classification system established by the Ministry of Environment in accordance with the Environmental Technology and Environmental Industry Support Act revised on April 13, 2021. The Korean green classification system can be used for green finance as a guide to define green economic activities. For example, it can be applied to projects subject to investment in green bonds in connection with the 'Korean Green Bond Guidelines' of the Ministry of Environment and the Financial Services Commission published in December 2020 to support and revitalize investment in environmental responsibility. Institutions that issue green bonds will be able to increase the trust of investors by selecting projects that correspond to true green economic activities by utilizing the Korean green classification system.

한국형 녹색분류체계 가이드라인(K-Taxonomy Guidelines)은 환경부에서 2021년 4월 13일 자로 개정된 「환경기술 및 환경산업 지원법」에 따라 수립한 한국형 녹색분류체계의 가이드라인이다. 한국형 녹색분류체계는 녹색경제활동을 정의하는 지침서로써 녹색금융에 활용될 수 있다. 그 예시로 환경책임투자 지원 및 활성화를 위해 2020년 12월 발간된 환경부와 금융위원회의 ‘한국형 녹색채권 가이드라인’과 연계하여 녹색채권의 투자 대상 프로젝트에 적용될 수 있다. 녹색채권을 발행하는 기관들은 한국형 녹색분류체계를 활용하여 진정한 녹색경제활동에 해당하는 프로젝트를 선정하여 투자자들의 신뢰를 증진할 수 있을것이다.
