Commercial District Business Type Classification

The Commercial District Business Type Classification is a classification code provided by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups (MSS) through the Commercial Districts Information System. This system offers free information on commercial districts, competition, location, and profitability to support entrepreneurship and business management. The classification information can be found in the system's notification section in an Excel file, categorized into major, medium, and minor classifications. Searches are made based on the minor classification unit.

Although this classification code is based on the Korea Standard Industry Classification (KSIC) 10th revision, it may differ from the business type classification linkage table due to adjustments in the classification.

According to Article 13, Paragraph 1 of the Act on the Protection of and Support for Micro Enterprises (commonly known as the Small Business Act), regulations related to the Commercial Districts Information System are provided.

1. The Minister of SMEs and Startups may establish and operate an information system (hereinafter referred to as the "Commercial Districts Information System") that comprehensively provides information related to commercial districts to support small business owners in selecting their location and business type. <Amended July 26, 2017>

As a reference, the platform name for the Commercial Districts Information System was changed to Big Data Platform Small Business 365 in November 2024, and in January 2025, the business type classification of the Commercial Districts Information System was also changed to the Big Data Platform Commercial Districts Information Business Type Classification. However, the 247 business type classification codes remain the same.

상가(상권) 업종분류(Commercial District Business Type Classification)는 중소벤처기업부에서 제공하는 상권정보 시스템의 분류코드로, 상권, 경쟁, 입지, 수익 등을 분석해 창업 및 경영에 필요한 정보를 무료로 제공한다. 해당 분류정보는 시스템 내 알림정보에서 엑셀 파일로 확인 가능하며, 대분류, 중분류, 소분류로 나뉘며 소분류 단위로 검색이 이루어진다. 이 분류코드는 한국표준산업분류 10차의 분류를 기반으로 작성되었으나, 업종분류 정제에 따라 상권업종분류 연계표와 상이할 수 있다.

소상공인 보호 및 지원에 관한 법률(약칭: 소상공인법) 제13조 제1항에 따르면 상권정보시스템에 관한 규정이 제시되어 있다.

① 중소벤처기업부장관은 소상공인의 입지 및 업종 선정을 지원하기 위하여 상권(商圈) 관련 정보를 종합적으로 제공하는 정보시스템(이하 “상권정보시스템”이라 한다)을 구축ㆍ운영할 수 있다. <개정 2017. 7. 26.>.

참고로 2024년 11월에 상권정보시스템 플랫폼 명칭도 빅데이터플랫폼 소상공인365로 변경되었으며, 2025년 1월에는 상권정보시스템 업종분류도 빅데이터플랫폼 **상가(상권)정보 업종분류**로 변경되었다. 단, 247개의 업종분류 코드는 동일하다.
