Classification System of Diagnosis and Treatment of Animals

The Classification System of Diagnostics and Treatment of Animals is a standardized classification system for animal care, such as animal disease names and treatment items, announced by the Minister of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs for the systematic development of animal care. In the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs' Notice "Recommended Standards for Animal Care," the recommended standard medical procedures for animal hospital frequent treatment items are set as an asterisk, and detailed medical guidelines according to the standard medical procedures are prepared by the head of the veterinary clinic and provided to the veterinarian by posting them on the website of the veterinarian association.

The frequent treatment items, which were 20 items at the time of enactment in April 2024, added 40 items in November 2024 and 40 items in April 2025, and as of 2026, there are recommended procedures for 100 treatment items. In addition, through the 2025 amendment, [Asterisk 2] Standardized Classification of Animal Disease Names and [Asterisk 3] Standardized Classification of Animal Medical Procedure Names were added.

동물 진료의 분류체계(Classification System of Diagnosis and Treatment of Animals)는 동물 진료의 체계적인 발전을 위하여 농림축산식품부 장관이 고시하는 동물의 질병명, 진료항목 등 동물 진료에 대한 표준화된 분류체계이다. 농림축산식품부 고시 ‘동물 진료의 권장 표준’에서 동물병원 다빈도 진료항목 권장 표준 진료절차를 별표로 정하고, 표준 진료절차에 따른 세부 진료지침을 수의사회장이 작성하여 수의사회 홈페이지 게시함으로써 진료 수의사에게 제공한다.

2024년 4월 제정 당시 20개였던 다빈도 진료항목은 2024년 11월 40개 추가, 2025년 4월 40개를 추가하여 2026년 현재 100개의 진료항목에 대한 권장 절차가 있다. 또한 2025년 개정을 통해 [별표2] 표준화된 동물의 질병명 분류와 [별표3] 표준화된 동물의 진료행위명 분류를 추가하였다.
