North-South Forest Comparison Glossary

The North-South Forest Comparison Glossary is a comparison of inter-Korean forest terms published in 2021 by the National Institute of Forest Science. For the smooth forest cooperation project between the two Koreas, the terms used in the overall forest fields such as planting and afforestation, forest pests, and all directions were investigated for two years, and published after expert advice. In the future, follow-up work will be conducted through advice from forest experts and Korean language experts (pre-editing experts).

The investigation and arrangement were conducted based on the forest terminology dictionary published by the South and the North.

The South Korean terminology was based on the preliminary ⌋ of ⌈ forest forestry terms, and was organized by reflecting the ⌋ of ⌈ forest administration purification terms additionally announced by the Korea Forest Service.

The North Korean terminology was used as basic data by investigating the North Korean terminology corresponding to the ⌈ Forest ⌋ Terminology Dictionary ⌋ published by North Korea in 2020 and the inspection of experts by field.

남북산림 용어비교집(North-South Forest Comparison Glossary)은 국립산림과학원에서 2021년 발간한 남북산림 용어비교집이다. 남북의 원활한 산림협력사업을 위해 양묘 및 조림, 산림병해충, 사방 등 전반적인 산림분야에서 사용하는 남북의 용어를 2년동안 조사했고, 전문가 자문을 거쳐 간행하였다. 향후 남북 산림전문가 및 국어전문가(사전편찬전문가) 자문을 통해 후속 작업 예정이다.

남과 북에서 출판한 산림분야 용어사전을 기준으로 조사와 정리가 진행되었다.

남한 용어는 ⌈산림임업용어사전⌋을 기본으로 하였으며, 산림청에서 추가로 발표한 ⌈산림행정순화용어⌋를 반영하여 정리하였다.

북한 용어는 ⌈산림임업용어사전⌋에 대응하는 북한 용어를 조사하여 기본자료로 활용했으며 2020년 북한이 발간한 ⌈영조산림용어집(과학백과사전출판사)⌋ 및 분야별 전문가 검수를 통해 최종 정리하였다.
