Glossary of spatial information

The Glossary of Spatial Information is a dictionary written* by the Korean Society for Geospatial Information and published by the National Geographic Information Institute. It covers all areas of spatial information, including GIS, surveying, geodesy, photogrammetry, remote sensing, cadastral analysis, oceanography, cartography, and ISO. Terms were selected and explained by referencing domestic and international dictionaries, textbooks, legislation, and research papers. Additional explanations, illustrations, and photographs were added where necessary to facilitate a comprehensive understanding of spatial information concepts.

The Spatial Information Terminology Dictionary is available online and in PDF format on the National Geographic Information Institute website.

*The author is the Korean Society of Geospatial Information, but the book was written in collaboration with experts from related societies (Korean Society of Geospatial Information, Korean Society of Surveying, Cartography, Geodesy, and Photogrammetry, Korean Society of Spatial Information, Korean Cadastral Society, and Korean Cartographic Society) and industry.

공간정보용어사전(Glossary of spatial information)은 한국지형공간정보학회가 집필*하고, 국토지리정보원이 발행한 사전이다. GIS, 측량, 측지, 사진측량, 원격탐사, 지적, 해양, 지도 및 ISO 등 공간정보의 전 분야를 다루고 있다. 국내외의 관련 사전과 교재, 법안, 연구논문 등을 참조하여 용어를 선정하고 해설하였으며 필요에 따라 부가 설명 및 다양한 삽화와 사진을 추가하여 공간정보에 대한 개념을 쉽게 이해할 수 있도록 구성하였다.

공간정보용어사전은 국토지리정보원 홈페이지에서 온라인, PDF 형태로 이용이 가능하다.

*집필 대표는 한국지형공간정보학회이나 공간정보관련 학회(한국지형공간정보학회, 한국측량학회, 공간정보학회, 한국지적학회, 한국지도학회)와 산업체 전문가들이 협력하여 집필했다.
