Encyclopedia of Korean Rites of Passage

This dictionary classifies lifelong rituals into birth rites, official rites, weddings, wedding ceremonies, public ceremonies, and rituals, and selected materials deemed essential for understanding the contents of the dictionary. The dictionary consists of publications and publications, illustrations and table of contents, and texts and indexes. The table control arrangement was arranged in alphabetical order, and the table of contents presented the order of each field along with the order of the alphabetical order. 이 사전은 일생의례를 크게 출생의례, 관・계례, 혼례, 수연례, 상장례, 제례로 구분하고 사전에 실린 내용을 이해하는 데 반드시 필요하다고 판단되는 자료들도 표제어로 선정하였다. 사전은 발간사와 발간개요, 일러두기와 목차, 그리고 본문과 색인으로 구성되었다. 표제어 배열은 가나다순으로 하였으며, 목차는 가나다 차례와 함께 분야별 차례를 제시하였다. 가나다 차례는 일반적인 사전 찾기 방식으로서 비교적 편리하게 표제어에 접근 할 수 있는 방식이다. 그러면서도 분야별 차례를 병행한 것은 출생의례에서 제례에 이르기까지 각 분야에 해당되는 관련 절차와 용어를 쉽게 파악할 수 있게 하기 위함이다. 그리고 집필자란에는 집필자가 작성한 표제어와 쪽수를 기재하여 이를 통해서도 표제어를 찾을 수 있도록 했다.
