Korean Employment Classification of Occupations

The Korean Employment Classification of Occupations (KECO) is a systematic classification of jobs that reflects labor market conditions, demand, and realistic job structures. This is used for statistical purposes to aggregate and compare the results of employment-related administrative DBs or statistical survey data. It is also used as a basic classification framework for the overall employment practice, such as the National Competency Standards (NCS), vocational training, national technical qualifications, provision of vocational information, and career guidance.

한국고용직업분류(Korean Employment Classification of Occupations, KECO)는 노동시장 상황과 수요, 현실적 직업구조 등을 반영하여 직무를 체계적으로 분류한 것이다. 이는 고용 관련 행정 DB나 통계조사자료의 결과를 집계하고 비교하기 위한 통계 목적으로 활용되고 있다. 또한 공공 부문의 취업알선 업무에 활용되며 (한국고용직업분류를 취업알선에 맞게 확장하여 '취업알선직업분류' 로 활용 중), 국가직무능력표준(NCS), 직업훈련, 국가기술자격, 직업정보의 제공, 진로지도 등 고용 실무 전반의 기본 분류 틀로 활용되고 있다.
