 Of the Criminal Legal Thesaurus elaborated by ILANUD in 1983 and 1985 respectively and includes the most important descriptors in both subjects. In parallel, and in order to facilitate its use, the manuals for the use and indexing of the Thesaurus were developed. In the preparation of this thesaurus, the valuable competition of prestigious specialists in Criminal Law, Criminology and Documentary Sciences of Latin America was counted, which allows to assure that it is a useful and reliable tool for the treatment and analysis of information. "

"El propósito de este proyecto es el desarrollo de un sistema de tratamiento y recupe ración de la información jurídico documental en materia penal que le permita al funcionario judicial y al operador del Derecho contar con información actualizada, sistemática y oficial en el ámbito de la jurisprudencia, la legislación y la doctrina. del Tesauro Jurídico Penal elaborado por ILANUD en 1983 y 1985 respectivamente y comprende los descriptores más importantes en ambas materias. Paralelamente, y con el propósito de facilitar su utilización se elaboraron los manuales para su uso e indización del Tesauro. En la elaboración de este Tesauro se conté can el valioso concurso de prestigiosos especialistas en Derecho Penal, Criminología y Ciencias Documentales de América Latina, lo que permite asegurar que se trata de una herramienta útil y confiable para el tratamiento y análisis de la información."
