"Nach dieser Systematik geordnet stellen zahlreiche Universitäts- und Fachhochschulbibliotheken ihre Bücher für die Benutzer frei zugänglich auf. Die GHB-Aufstellungssystematik wird ab Oktober 2004 nicht mehr aktualisiert und auf dem Stand vom 25. Juni 2004 eingefroren. Die für die Fachsystematiken federführenden Bibliotheken nehmen diese Aufgabe nicht mehr wahr."
