Gale Transportation Thesaurus

The Gale Transportation Thesaurus is a subset of the master Gale Technology Thesaurus in the narrower domain of modes and mediums of transportation, except for those whose main application is military - such as troop transports, battleships, military aircraft, and tanks. Aside from the obligatory planes, trains, and automobiles, transportation also includes things such as forklifts, conveyor belts, and any other device or means for getting something or someone from one point to another including roads, tunnels, and bridges. All thesaural relationships (BT/NT, RT, USE/UF) are included, and some terms have scope notes. The thesaurus contains 1,397 preferred terms/concepts (2019) and is continually updated.
