Open Threat Taxonomy

"The goal of this project is simple, to maintain a free, community driven, open source taxonomy of potential threats to information systems. Our hope is that this taxonomy will serve as a resource for organizations attempting to prioritize their defenses and choose controls most appropriate for defending their information systems. We believe that the nature of a common internet and homogeneous systems leads to common threats to information systems.

Glossary of Talent Acquisition Metrics

However, often the terminology and nomenclature of these metrics varies from company to company or analyst to analyst.

Aves - A Taxonomy in Flux

"There are big changes underway in bird taxonomy. You've probably noticed that the checklist is always changing. Suddenly the ducks have replaced the loons in front of the NGS guide. Not too long ago the shrikes and vireos were next to the warblers, now they're next to the jays. Maybe you've heard that vultures are storks, or that they're not really storks after all, or that North American tanagers are now cardinals, or that saltators are tanagers, not cardinals. Then there are the Baltimore and Bullock's Orioles, or are they just Northern Orioles?

Saffir-Simpson Hurricane Wind Scale

"The Saffir-Simpson Hurricane Wind Scale is a 1 to 5 rating based on a hurricane's sustained wind speed. This scale estimates potential property damage. Hurricanes reaching Category 3 and higher are considered major hurricanes because of their potential for significant loss of life and damage. Category 1 and 2 storms are still dangerous, however, and require preventative measures. In the western North Pacific, the term 'super typhoon' is used for tropical cyclones with sustained winds exceeding 150 mph."
