        "In the \"Folk Song\" volume of the Encyclopedia of Korean Folk Literature: Folk Song, individual song titles were primarily used as headwords. Terms and materials essential for understanding the content of the encyclopedia were also selected as headwords. The encyclopedia is organized in the following order: foreword and publication overview, notes to the reader and table of contents, main text and index, and contributors. Headwords are arranged in Korean alphabetical order (gana-da), and the table of contents employs both a gana-da order and a thematic classification order in parallel. The gana-da order provides a relatively convenient means of accessing headwords in the manner of a standard dictionary. The parallel thematic classification order was included to allow readers to easily identify the nature of a folk song and its related songs. In this way, readers can grasp at a glance what kind of folk song a particular entry of interest is, and what other folk songs share similar characteristics. This approach enhances accessibility to headwords and improves the referencing and learning functions characteristic of an encyclopedia. Furthermore, the contributors section at the end lists not only the name and institutional affiliation of each contributor, but also the headwords they authored along with the corresponding page numbers, enabling headwords to be located through this section as well. The encyclopedia makes active use of cross-references, strengthening its role as a guide for readers to actively construct their own knowledge frameworks. Linking related information serves the function of helping readers actively expand their knowledge."

        "한국민속문학사전:민요(Encyclopedia of Korean Folk Literature:Folk Song)'민요편'에서는 주로 개별 노래 제목을 표제어로 삼았다. 또한 사전에 실린 내용을 이해하는 데 꼭 필요한 용어와 자료들도 표제어로 선정하였다. 사전은 발간사와 발간개요, 일러두기와 목차, 그리고 본문과 색인, 필자 순으로 구성되었다. 표제어 배열은 가나다순으로 하였으며, 목차는 크게 가나다 차례와 분류별 차례를 병행하였다. 가나다 차례는 일반적인 사전 찾기 방식으로서 비교적 편리하게 표제어에 접근할 수있는 방식이다. 그러면서도 분류별 차례를 병행한 것은 설화의 성격과 관련 설화를 쉽게 파악할 수 있게 하기 위해서이다. 이렇게 함으로써 보는 이는 자신이 관심이 있는 설화가 어떤 성격의 설화인지, 그 설화와 비슷한 성격의 설화에는 어떠한 것들이 있는지 한눈에 파악할수 있다. 이를 통해 표제어로의 접근성을 높였고, 백과사전의 특징인 참조와 학습의 기능을 향상시켰다. 그리고 마지막 필자란에는 집필자성명과 소속만을 표기하지 않고 집필자가 작성한 표제어와 쪽수를 써 두어 이를 통해서도 표제어를 찾을 수 있도록 했다. 이 사전에서는 적극적으로 '상호참조(cross reference)'표시를 하여 독자들이 능동적으로 지식체계를 만들어 갈 수 있도록 사전의 안내자역할을 강화했다. 서로 연관되는 정보를 연계하는 것은 독자들이 능동적으로 지식을 확장할 수 있도록 돕는 기능을 한다."

        "The Encyclopedia of Korean Folk Literature: Pansori (Epic Chant) primarily uses work titles and individual sections (daemok) as headwords. Terms and materials essential for understanding the content of the encyclopedia were also selected as headwords. The encyclopedia divides pansori into two categories: the five currently extant madang (acts) as one category, and works whose vocal tradition has not been transmitted along with works composed in the modern era as another. Headwords are arranged in Korean alphabetical order (gana-da), and the table of contents employs both a gana-da order and a thematic classification order in parallel. The gana-da order provides a relatively convenient means of accessing headwords in the manner of a standard dictionary. The parallel thematic classification order was included to allow readers to easily identify the nature of a work and its related works. In this way, readers can grasp at a glance what kind of work a particular entry of interest is, and what other works share similar characteristics. This approach enhances accessibility to headwords and improves the referencing and learning functions characteristic of an encyclopedia. Furthermore, the contributors section at the end lists not only the name and institutional affiliation of each contributor, but also the headwords they authored along with the corresponding page numbers, enabling headwords to be located through this section as well. The encyclopedia makes active use of cross-references, strengthening its role as a guide for readers to actively construct their own knowledge frameworks.         "한국민속문학사전:판소리(Encyclopedia of Korean Folk Literature:Pansori(Epic Chant))는 주로 작품명과 대목을 표제어로 삼았다. 또한 사전에 실린 내용을 이해하는 데 꼭 필요한 용어와 자료들도 표제어로 선정하였다. 이 사전에는 판소리를 현전하는 다섯마당을 하나의 갈래로, 창이 전승되지 않은 작품들과 근대에 창작된 작품들을 다른 하나의 갈래로 나누었다. 사전은 발간사와 발간개요, 일러두기와 목차, 그리고 본문과 색인, 필자 순으로 구성되었다. 표제어 배열은 가나다순으로 하였으며, 목차는 크게 가나다 차례와 분류별 차례를 병행하였다. 가나다 차례는 일반적인 사전 찾기 방식으로서 비교적 편리하게 표제어에 접근할 수있는 방식이다. 그러면서도 분류별 차례를 병행한 것은 설화의 성격과 관련 설화를 쉽게 파악할 수 있게 하기 위해서이다. 이렇게 함으로써 보는 이는 자신이 관심이 있는 설화가 어떤 성격의 설화인지, 그 설화와 비슷한 성격의 설화에는 어떠한 것들이 있는지 한눈에 파악할수 있다. 이를 통해 표제어로의 접근성을 높였고, 백과사전의 특징인 참조와 학습의 기능을 향상시켰다. 그리고 마지막 필자란에는 집필자성명과 소속만을 표기하지 않고 집필자가 작성한 표제어와 쪽수를 써 두어 이를 통해서도 표제어를 찾을 수 있도록 했다. 이 사전에서는 적극적으로 '상호참조(cross reference)'표시를 하여 독자들이 능동적으로 지식체계를 만들어 갈 수 있도록 사전의 안내자역할을 강화했다. 서로 연관되는 정보를 연계하는 것은 독자들이 능동적으로 지식을 확장할 수 있도록 돕는 기능을 한다."
