        "\"STRUNA is a database of Croatian Special Field Terminology. It was officially inaugurated on the web in February 2012. Its aim is to gradually make available to the public the standardized Croatian terminology for all professional domains.\n\nThe Development of Croatian Special Field Terminology project started in 2007 as part of the initial coordination project launched at the initiative of the Croatian Standard Language Council, and has since been financed by the Croatian Science Foundation. The program supports the strategic values of the Foundation and fits into two basic areas of the National Strategy for Science Development – development of information technology and sociocultural transition from an industrial to a knowledge-based society. The Institute of Croatian Language and Linguistics was chosen to serve as the national coordinator.\n\nGiven the pivotal role terminology plays in language development as well as professional communication, the objective of the program in a broader sense is to lay the foundation for the development of national terminology policy, to establish various forms of more structured education in this field, and to intensify long-term cooperation with national and international academic and other institutions dealing with different aspects of terminology work, with the Croatian Standards Institute and with other interested parties.         "\"Struna je terminološka baza hrvatskoga strukovnog nazivlja u kojoj se sustavno prikuplja, stvara, obrađuje i tumači nazivlje različitih struka radi izgrađivanja i usklađivanja nazivlja na hrvatskome jeziku.\n\nSkrb o hrvatskome strukovnom nazivlju – bitnoj sastavnici hrvatskoga standardnog jezika – jedna je od temeljnih zadaća Instituta za hrvatski jezik i jezikoslovlje. Nazivlje je ključ stručnoga i znanstvenoga sporazumijevanja i stoga je rad na nazivlju iznimno važan i veoma zahtjevan posao koji je u nas donedavno bio prilično zanemaren. Osnivanjem Strune stvorene su temeljne pretpostavke za njegov razvoj na nacionalnoj razini. Ovim se programom izgrađuje terminološka infrastruktura kakvom već raspolažu gotovo sve europske države. Izgradnja takve infrastrukture osobito je važna za hrvatski jezik otkad je postao službenim jezikom Europske unije.\n\nProjekt izgradnje hrvatskoga strukovnog nazivlja pokrenut je na inicijativu Vijeća za normu hrvatskoga standardnog jezika, a Hrvatska zaklada za znanost financijski ga je podupirala od 2008. do 2013. godine te ponovno od proljeća 2016. godine. Za nacionalnoga koordinatora izabran je Institut za hrvatski jezik i jezikoslovlje (vidi Iz povijesti Strune). U Struni ravnopravno surađuju stručnjaci jezikoslovne struke sa stručnjacima drugih struka. Institut za hrvatski jezik i jezikoslovlje kao nacionalni koordinator pruža terminološku, kroatističku i tehničku podršku prihvaćenim projektima. Program izgradnje hrvatskoga strukovnog nazivlja jedini je djelatni oblik terminološkoga planiranja u Republici Hrvatskoj.
