        "\nΣχετικά με το σύγγραμμα\n\nΤεχνητή Νοημοσύνη είναι ο τομέας της επιστήμης των υπολογιστών που ασχολείται με τη σχεδίαση ευφυών υπολογιστικών συστημάτων, δηλαδή συστημάτων που επιδεικνύουν χαρακτηριστικά που σχετίζονται με τη νοημοσύνη στην ανθρώπινη συμπεριφορά.\n\nΤο βιβλίο καλύπτει την Τεχνητή Νοημοσύνη σε όλη την ιστορική της εξέλιξη, ξεκινώντας με προσεγγίσεις που βασίζονται στη συστηματική καταγραφή και κωδικοποίηση της ανθρώπινης ευφυίας, περιγράφοντας μοντελοποίηση προβλημάτων, μεθόδους αναπαράστασης γνώσης για αυτά και αλγορίθμους αναζήτησης λύσεών τους. Στη συνέχεια εμβαθύνει σε τομείς όπως τα συστήματα γνώσης, την επίλυση περιορισμών, το σχεδιασμό ενεργειών, τη μηχανική μάθηση, τους γενετικούς αλγόριθμους, την ασαφή λογική και τα νευρωνικά δίκτυα. Τέλος, δεν παραλείπει να επεκταθεί σε πιο σύνθετες εφαρμογές, όπως τους ευφυείς πράκτορες και το σημασιολογικό ιστό.\n\nΠρωταρχικός σκοπός του βιβλίου ήταν να αποτελέσει ένα διδακτικό σύγγραμμα για τη διδασκαλία ενός μαθήματος στην Τεχνητή Νοημοσύνη. Το βιβλίο, από την Α’ έκδοση (2002), πράγματι έτυχε ευρείας αποδοχής από το σύνολο σχεδόν των Τμημάτων Πληροφορικής της τριτοβάθμιας εκπαίδευσης, γεγονός το οποίο συνεχίστηκε και στις επόμενες δύο εκδόσεις.\n"
