        "The Design Industry Classification was established in 2013 in accordance with Articles 2 and 10-2 of the Industrial Design Promotion Act, with the aim of providing a basis for design policy formulation and advancing the forecasting environment to enhance the competitiveness of the design industry, and was most recently revised in 2018. Through the Design Industry Classification, it is possible to enhance the reliability of design industry statistics — which define design-specialized companies and design-utilizing companies — as well as time-series forecasting and the overall effectiveness of design policy, and to improve the survey reliability of the \"Industrial Design Statistics,\" which has been conducted as an officially approved statistical survey by Statistics Korea since 2007."
