Historical International Standard Classification of Occupations

"Starting in the 1950s the International Labour Office has developed an International Standard Classification of Occupations (isco) allowing classification of occupational activities worldwide. Naturally, this system is not intended to deal with historical information. In recent years, a group of historians and sociologists have started to build upon the 1968 version of isco to create a classification scheme for occupational titles in the 19th and early 20th centuries, called hisco (...).

"Aquest diccionari és fruit de la col·laboració entre la Xarxa Vives d’Universitats i el Centre de Terminologia TERMCAT, amb l’objectiu de difondre en línia el treball dut a terme per la Comissió de Llengua de la Xarxa Vives mitjançant el grup de treball de Terminologia i Nomenclatura, integrat per tècnics dels serveis lingüístics de 14 universitats de la Xarxa.

"El Catàleg d’autoritats de noms i títols de Catalunya (CANTIC) és un catàleg d’autoritats cooperatiu que es realitza en el Catàleg Col·lectiu de les Universitats de Catalunya (CCUC) i està liderat per la Biblioteca de Catalunya.
El seu objectiu és normalitzar els punts d’accés dels catàlegs bibliogràfics, millorar la comunicació entre els diferents catàlegs i sobretot afavorir la cerca i la recuperació de la informació.
El seu abast són registres d’autoritats dels tipus següents:
• Noms de persones i de famílies
• Noms d’entitat
• Noms de congrés

"The catalog of names and titles authorities of Catalonia (canticle) is a catalog of cooperative authorities carried out in the Catalog of the Universities of Catalonia (CCUC) and is led by the Library of Catalonia.
Its aim is to standardize access points of bibliographic catalogs, improve communication between the various catalogs and especially encourage the search and retrieval of information.
His records are available to authorities following types:
• Names of individuals and families
• Names of body
• Names of Congress
• Uniform Titles

Llista d'encapçalaments de noms i títols de la Biblioteca de Catalunya

"La Llista d’encapçalaments de noms i títols de la Biblioteca de Catalunya (LENOTI) conté els registres d’autoritat de nom, nom-títol i títol emprats per a la catalogació dels documents. Els registres d'autoritat poden incloure, a més de l'encapçalament acceptat, els encapçalaments no acceptats, els encapçalaments relacionats i les notes sobre l’ús de l’encapçalament.

"The list heading names and titles of the Library of Catalonia (Lenôtre) contains authority records name, title, and name-title used for the classification of documents. The authority records can include, in addition to the heading, headings not accepted related headings and notes about the use of the header.
Cataloging rules used by the library to choose and shape of name headings, name-title and title are the Anglo-American Cataloging Rules (Part II). The authorities used format is the MARC 21 Format for Authority Data.

IUPAC Compendium of Analytical Nomenclature

"The index of this edition contains ca 6,000 entries. The cross-references may help the readers to find the correct terms which they are looking for. (...) It is expected that the readers who are interested in IUPAC recommendations concerning analytical terms and definitions will be able to find them quickly and easily in the Compendium. In the text of the Compendium there are, occasionally, contradicting definitions which result from the fact that the experts of different fields - while trying to do their best-hold different views on certain key issues.

This purpose requires a system of principles and rules, the application of which gives rise to a systematic nomenclature.
